Pilgrims Registered as Requiring Assistance from the HotelsThe pilgrimage tries to offer assistance to those people who have registered with the pilgrimage as requiring help to and from the hotels in order to participate in the pilgrimage programme. For those registered as such please note the following: Every effort will be made to ensure that you are brought to and from the services marked on the pilgrimage programme, with the exception of services in the Upper Basilica where access is restricted for wheelchairs, and the Upper Way of the Cross, where there is no access for wheelchairs. Whilst we will normally give assistance when it has been requested please remember that the pilgrimage is entirely dependent on volunteers and consequently the numbers on duty may vary from day to day during the pilgrimage. If you require assistance to anything other than the above-mentioned, this must be within reason and cannot always be guaranteed. For example, every effort will be made to take you shopping but this will be within the locality of your hotel and not up to the town centre (as this involves a substantial climb.) Please be patient when waiting for the helpers to collect you. If you have been notified that someone will come to assist you, then they will turn up. Please wait in the hotel foyer.
As always the words 'please' and 'thank you' have an amazing effect on people.
