We are pleased to provide details of the 2004 Annual Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
As in previous years we have one flight from Liverpool Airport which is scheduled to leave early on Wednesday 28th July. Seats on the plane are normally reserved very quickly so if you wish to travel by air we advise you to book early.
New this year is the Volunteer Application Form. Under diocesan guidelines for the Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults it is essential that you complete this form if you wish to act as a helper, in any capacity, during the pilgrimage.
Please print and complete parts 1 and 2 of the booking form, together with parts 1 and 2 of the Volunteer Application Form if applicable, and post to the addresses shown. The Pilgrimage Office is staffed by volunteers who work in conjunction with La Maison du Pèlerin, our agent in Lourdes. It was established in 1996 to keep costs as low as possible in order to reverse the decline in the number of pilgrims travelling in the previous years. There has been a steady increase in numbers annually since then and in 2003 nearly 900 people from all areas of the diocese chose to experience the unique atmosphere of Lourdes as part of this large diocesan gathering. If this will be your first visit you will be in good company and very welcome.
